You’d be forgiven for forgetting that HBO‘s Lanterns left off with Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) in space, confronting his old mentor, Sinestro (Ulrich Thomsen). Well, Hal is back on Earth in these first look stills at Episode 4, “The Weenie,” and he’s chilling with John Stewart on a water tower.
Sadly, not the same water tower the Animaniacs live in. But we do get another shot of John solo on the tower, looking out into the distance, perhaps wondering why everyone online is so upset he’s not an architect on the TV series. “Yes, that’s Kyle Rayner’s backstory,” you can almost hear him think, “but is it really a big deal I’m an artist?”
Elsewhere, we’ve got two stills of Sheriff Kerry Kane (Kelly MacDonald) and Hal in a bar, though it doesn’t look like they’re getting drinks together:
And finally, Laura Linney’s Guardian Lianna is back this week, wearing a different coat and seemingly standing in John’s motel room (you can see the scope he’s using in the pics above on the desk, to give some context and connection there). Why she’s back and in “person” is TBD.
