After promising that I would begin breaking down the best-selling comics of the week last week… I was out of town and forgot to do this. Sorry. But now I’m back, and we’re getting caught up with the Top 10 (and beyond) for August 18-24, 2026, led by DC Comics in the top slot, once again.
I’ll do a more complete analysis below, but as usual this data is taken from Prana Direct Market Solutions’ list of Top 400 best-sellers, which itself is taken from 600+ stores using Manage Comics and Comic Shop Assistant systems. That means two things: first, it’s a sampling, not official sales totals for the country/world; and second, these are POS (Point of Sale) rankings, meaning books sold to actual customers, not just sold to comic book stores.
That out of the way, let’s get to the Top 10 for the week.

10 Best-Selling Selling Comics (Single Issues) for August 18-24, 2026
| Rank | Issue Title & Number | Publisher |
| 1. | Absolute Green Arrow #4 | DC Comics |
| 2. | Daredevil #5 | Marvel |
| 3. | Avengers: Armageddon #3 | Marvel |
| 4. | Absolute Batman #23 | DC Comics |
| 5. | Absolute Flash #18 | DC Comics |
| 6. | Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #12 | Skybound/Image Comics |
| 7. | Uncanny X-Men #34 | Marvel |
| 8. | The Last Driver #1 | Image Comics |
| 9. | Queen in Black #3 | Marvel |
| 10. | Punisher Vs. Spider-Man #2 | Marvel |
DC Comics taking the top of the chart isn’t a surprise at this point, and Absolute Green Arrow #4 snagging number one certainly backs up DC’s decision to extend the series from six to 12 issues. But this week is a nice surprise for Marvel, which captured half of the Top 10, led by Daredevil. In total, Marvel grabbed 132 slots on the Top 400, versus 112 for DC Comics.
Jumping back to DC, if you’re wondering why Absolute Batman #23 is at number four? That’s because the issue came out the week before, so this is continued strong sales into week two. Shouts to AbsBat!
As or Image Comics, Invincible Universe: Battle Beast continues to be a hit, while Sean Gordon Murphy’s The Last Driver #1 had a strong debut… On the latter, Image called it an “immediate sell out” and is rushing a second printing into stores on September 16. Image in total snagged 66 slots on the Top 400, with the latest issue of G.I. Joe just missing the Top 10 at number 11.
And for other publishers IDW ranked highest at number 26 for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #21, and grabbed 12 slots total, with Hello Kitty And Friends: Hello World #1 holding strong in week two after a Top 10 debut, now at number 45. Meanwhile, Dark Horse’s Only the Savage Are Left #3 hit 44 on the chart, with the publisher grabbing 14 slots total. And Oni Press snuck into the Top 50 with EC Comics Shellshock #1 at 48, and 10 slots total for the publisher.
Okay, that’s it for this time! And I’ll get this back on track, I swear.
