Image Comics! Yeah! Let’s go! As usual, the publisher has a wide array of different titles coming out in September 2026, and we’ve got 11 picks for must pick-up titles.
That doesn’t mean everything else is bad, by the way. Oh, you didn’t think that? And now maybe you do? OH WELL.
ANYWAY. Here are our picks for 11 highly anticipated comic books from Image Comics coming this September, presented in chronological release order.
1. Crowbound #1
Release Date: September 2, 2026
Jeff Lemire and Dustin Nguyen back together again? Sold. On a story pitched as The Handmaid’s Tale meets The Road? I was already sold, you don’t need to sell me any harder.
2. Tales Of Wonder #1
Release Date: September 2, 2026
I’ve had a chance to read this one in advance (check out our podcast with creator Steve Skroce for more), and the story of two DEFINITELY NOT Stan Lee and Jack Kirby creators teaming up with their creations to save the world is a ton of fun.
3. The Karman Blade #1
Release Date: September 9, 2026
Speaking of teams that already have been sold: Darcy Van Poelgeest and Ian Bertram. A new title not in the same universe as Little Bird and Precious Metal, this dark fantasy book is a must-read regardless.
4. Odin #4
Release Date: September 9, 2026
Marguerite Bennet, James Tynion IV, and Letizia Cadonici are delivering the horror comic of our times as a bunch of white supremacists (and a journalist) are trapped in the snow and killed off one by one, possibly by Norse gods.
5. Spawn ’77 #1
Release Date: September 9, 2026
Todd McFarlane returns to his original design for Spawn, imagining what would have happened if he ran with the look he gave the character when he was 16 (or so).
6. Exquisite Corpses: Fox Mask Killer #1
Release Date: September 16, 2026
The second spinoff of the hit Exquisite Corpses (the first, Rascal Randy, also releases an issue this month), this one focuses on the origin of the bad-ass murderer of the title.
7. G.I. Joe #26
Release Date: September 16, 2026
The best Energon Universe book continues with Baroness on the run, Night Force battling G.I. Joe, and Zartan pretending to be their leader. I’m not even a G.I. Joe fan and I’m loving this.
8. Ofiusa #1
Release Date: September 16, 2026
Guillem March writes and draws this book. What’s it about? Who cares, it’s gonna look great! Just kidding, March also turned in the rather beautiful and poignant Karmen (no relation to Karmen Blade), and follows it up with this dark love triangle.
9. Bug Wars: The Coming of Wardoom #2
Release Date: September 23, 2026
Jason Aaron and Mahmud Asrar’s adult backyard epic continues, now even more Honey, I Shrunk The Kids than ever before!
10. Crimes Against Nature #1
Release Date: September 23, 2026
An animal trainer and an Academy Award-nominated gorilla get accused of murder and go on the run. Oh, you’ve already bought five copies? Okay, good.
11. That Texas Blood: Hell Comes To Allison Ranch #1
Release Date: September 23, 2026
After a little delay, Jacob Phillips and Chris Condon’s excellent neo-noir is back for a new batch of issues, and with a TV show in development you won’t want to miss this one.
