Archie #1 Joins October’s Midnight Release Party:
The Sabrina the Teenage Witch #1 Midnight release is about to get a little spookier thanks to the addition of a special Pyre Satanic Variant cover for Archie #1.
Hopping on the already scheduled Midnight Universe release for Marvel’s Midnight Spider-Man #1, Midnight Fantastic Four #1 and Midnight X-Men #1, Oni Press had already announced Sabrina would be joining the fun with a Pyre Satanic Variant from artist Chloe Brailsford. And now, while Archie #1 will already be in stores, you have a chance to get another variant at 12:01am on October 7 at participating comic book stores.
The joke here is this is a flip of Spire Christian Comics, a line that licensed the Archie Comics characters for religious comics for nearly a decade starting in 1972. Given Oni Press is now also licensing the Archie Comics characters… Well, that’s the joke, like I said. It’s flipping the good guy image on its head.

Garth Ennis And John McCrea Reteam For The Snail:
Garth Ennis and John McCrea are back at it again with a new horror one-shot titled The Snail.
Per PR from Image Comics, “When you are offered your heart’s desire, what (and who) are you willing to sacrifice to achieve it? And should you really be making that deal with a… talking snail?”
This is the latest release from the Ninth Circle label, which started as a way of all-stars publishing horror one-shots in a prestige format, but has mostly become a way for Ennis to do things like “what if a talking snail told you do stuff?”
The Snail hits stores on November 11, 2026.
Jack Kirby Museum Hosts Walking Tour:
Want to walk a mile in Jack Kirby’s shoes? Well, now you can thanks to the Jack Kirby Museum & Research Center’s annual walking tour of New York.
Held from 11am to 12:30pm this Saturday, August 29, the walking tour, per a press release provided to Comic Book Club, will “tour of the New York neighborhood where comics legend Jack Kirby — co-creator of the Marvel Universe — grew up, tracing the streets and history that shaped his early life and career.”
The tour starts under the brand new Jack Kirby Way street sign, at the Northwest corner of Delancey and Essex Streets in Manhattan, aka near the frankly enormous McDonald’s. From there, “Kirby and comic historians” will lead fans around the Lower East Side to show off the cultural landmarks and architecture that helped Kirby craft everything from the Avengers and Captain America, to Darkseid, the Fantastic Four, Hulk, and many more.
If you’d like to join, just show up at the address mentioned at the time noted, and get ready to punch any Nazis you see along the way right in the snoot.
