Everyone’s favorite cannibal soccer team drama, Yellowjackets, returns for the fourth and final season on November 20.
That’s pretty much all the news you need (though there is a short teaser below), though one additional wrinkle is that the show will premiere exclusively on Paramount+ with the Premium Plan, versus debuting digitally, then a few days later broadcasting on Showtime. So yeah, if you want to see how this all turns out, you’re going to need to get Paramount+.
If you’re not familiar, the show, created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, takes place in two timelines. In one, the teen girls of the Yellowjackets soccer squad crash land in the wilderness (possibly Canada, but who can say?) and encounter strange mysteries in the woods while occasionally eating each other. 25 years later, the survivors are still grappling with the fallout, discovering that the woods might not be done with them yet.
And — spoilers for last season — we discovered that the teens decided to stay in the woods… Or would, except Teen Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) placed a call for their rescue. Whether just Natalie gets rescued, or as the short tease below, er, teases, all of them is TBD… Though a short synopsis notes that, “As the survivors race to bury their sins before rescue arrives and an old flame roars back into town with plans of her own. Turns out not every homecoming is a joyous one, and this one’s going to sting.”
Season 4 also stars Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Warren Kole, Kevin Alves, Sarah Desjardins, Nia Sondaya, Jenna Burgess, and Hilary Swank.
