The first five minutes of HBO‘s Lanterns have arrived online, in advance of the premiere of the show this Sunday. And you can watch John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) training with Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) right here, right now.
…Or rather first you can see a young John Stewart in 1996, watching Hal Jordan give an interview on TV, leading to a harrowing situation with John’s father involving a gun and an apple. Then things cut to 2016, with an adult John getting in Hal’s car, leading up to scenes we’ve seen in the trailer.
What does it all mean? Why is John’s father shooting at him? What’s with the alternating timelines? You’ll find out all this info in, you won’t believe this, the first episode of the show.
