Absolute Batman Takes On Regular Batman In Batman Of Two Worlds:

Absolute Batman, and regular ol’ Batman will solve the same crime in two universes in the DC Comics one-shot Batman of Two Worlds.

To be 100% clear, AbsBat will not be meeting RegsBat. Instead, the idea here is that Scott Snyder and Nick Derington, and Matt Fraction and Javier Fernández, present the same crime to both versions, and readers can see how their methods diverge.

Said Fraction via press release, “You have two different looks at Batman. The moral structures, the ethical structures, the political structures. A chance to put them side by side and see the similarities and differences.”

Added Snyder, “This is just such a unique moment. The mission was to show what’s special about each interpretation. The two stories are both about Batman’s form of justice.”

Both stories will be in one issue that will hit stores on Batman Day, aka September 19, the anniversary of the publication of the first Batman comic. And as for a proper crossover between the two universes? Well, it’s coming… But not quite yet.

Scott Pilgrim Returns In New Comics From Bryan Lee O’Malley:

Scott Pilgrim is back with a brand-new one-shot from creator Bryan Lee O’Malley.

Titled Scott Pilgrim EX: Dawn of Metal Scott, the 24-page comic book serves as a prequel to the Scott Pilgrim EX fighting game, which picks up after the comic book series with Scott and Ramona living as a happy couple. That is until the devious Metal Scott arrives, kidnaps Sex Bob-Omb, and forces Scott to team up with some of his greatest enemies.

The comic itself will feature 16 pages of O’Malley written and drawn battles between Scott and Metal Scott, followed by some extras. While O’Malley calls it only a “trifle” via press release, it is a fun prequel to the video game, which itself is a sequel to sequel anime series Scott Pilgrim Takes Off.

Scott Pilgrim EX: Dawn Of Metal Scott hits stores on November 15, 2026.

Maximum X-Men Picks Up From Avengers: Armageddon:

As announced at Marvel’s San Diego Comic-Con Avengers: Armageddon panel, in the wake of the event, Christopher Yost and Tony S. Daniel will launch Maximum X-Men, an ongoing series that finds Storm leading a new team of mutants.

The goal of the book? Have Storm use her learnings from her time in the Avengers to build a new team to take on big threats, starting with an invasion from the Negative Zone. On the team are Wolverine — who is, of course, also on the new Avengers team — Colossus, Bishop, Iceman, Psylocke, Firestar, and Justice. Who’s the last guy? That’s Vance Astrovik, of the New Warriors, of course!

Maximum X-Men #1 hits stores on December 2, 2026.
