When M.A.S.K. #1 debuted from Skybound and Image Comics, the Blind Bags for the issue held two fun surprises: the introduction of ROM in ROM Special #1, and a collection of stories about the origins of M.A.S.K. And now both books are breaking out of the blind bags and will be released in no bags in stores this August.
While ROM has already made his debut in Void Rivals, the one-shot by Robert Kirkman and artist Lorenzo De Felici introduces “space knight ROM to the Energon Universe in this standalone special issue.” The reprint features covers by Lorenzo De Felici and “a variant cover program including open to order covers by Christian Ward (Killing Red Sonja), E.J. Su (Blood & Thunder), Nick Bradshaw (Wolverine and X-Men) & Jim Charalampidis (Amazing Spider-Man), a foil, die-cut mask cover by John Amor (Phantom 2040), and a blank sketch cover.”
As for M.A.S.K. Origins #1, the book collects all the individual pages and stories that led up to the first issue, and the new printing includes covers by “Pye Parr (Petrol Head) and a variant cover program including open to order covers by Jason Howard (Transformers), Ethan Young (Titans), Danilo Beyruth (Catwoman) & Neeraj Menon (The Ultimates), and Ben Oliver (Detective Comics).“
