Harold Schechter and Eric Powell’s modern classic Did You Hear What Eddie Gein Done? is back with an Expanded Edition from Dark Horse, featuring bonus materials, a new cover, and even more things that Eddie Gein done.
Okay, okay, fine, that’s probably not funny to joke about as Gein is the real life killer who inspired Psycho, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and The Silence of the Lambs. And in the graphic novel, Schechter and Powell delve deep into his psychology, now in a new paperback edition featuring, “creator commentary, research photos, historical insights, and a haunting new cover by Powell.”
Said Schechter, “Though Eddie Gein is commonly described as a serial killer, he was not motivated by the same sadistic bloodlust that drove such sex-murderers as Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, and Jeffrey Dahmer. He was, in essence, a necrophile: a sexual deviant with a perverted attraction to corpses. The word ‘necrophile’ was coined in the early 1800s to describe a French soldier, Sergeant Francois Bertrand, a ghoulish lover of the dead and Gein’s most notorious predecessor. Did You Hear What Eddie Gein Done? Expanded Edition comes in 6″ x 9″ paperback at 248 pages, and will hit stores on February 2, 2027.
