True to form, Universal Monsters: Frankenstein is getting split up into new parts as Skybound will rerelease the series by Michael Walsh as two issues, now in black and white.
“Frankenstein is one of those stories that transcends time and cements itself as one of the most iconic and influential monster stories in the horror genre,” said Caitlin Chappell, Assistant Editor at Skybound via press release. “Universal Monsters and Walsh are a dynamic collaboration that do this beloved monster justice, and we’re excited to give fans a classic double feature with Universal Monsters: Frankenstein Black and White Special Issue #1, which collects the original first and second issues in one book.”
Originally released as four issues, the fascinating series focuses on the stories behind the monster’s body parts, until it builds to a singular, heartbreaking whole.
Universal Monsters: Frankenstein Black & White Special #1 will hit stores on October 14, 2026, while issue #2 hits on November 11. Check out the covers and synopsis below:
Universal Monsters: Frankenstein follows Dr. Henry Frankenstein as he begins his unholy quest to create life by robbing the grave of a decorated police officer to find necessary parts, specifically a strong pair of hands.
