Weird week! Probably still hepped up on hot dogs and fireworks, the comic book industry is slow playing things for the new comics this week in stores for July 8, 2026. But hey, there’s still plenty to pick up, so let’s break down the highlights, followed by the full list of single issues coming to comic book stores.
DC Comics has a new issue of Absolute Batman #22, which is always an event, but we’ve also got Werther Dell’Edera on art for a Harley Quinn origin story. This is all great news! Teeing up the October debuting DCU movie, Clayface: Celebrity Dirt #1 tells a tale of imposters and vengeance. And the Batman spinoff continues in Absolute Catwoman #2.
Speaking of movie tie-ins, Marvel has The Fantastic Four: First Foes – Shalla-Bal, diving into the origin of the MCU’s Silver Surfer. Jeff the Land Shark: Superstar is another series featuring the Marvel Rivals breakout, this time kidnapped (sharknapped?) by Mojo. And not to be outdone, the little symbiote that could gets his own collection with It’s Symbie! #1.
Tiny Onion’s mega-hit Exquisite Corpses spins off with Rascal Randy #1, focusing on the murderous mascot. Dark Horse’s Witness Point #1 is a comic by none other than Nathan Fillion. And BOOM! Studios gets chocolate in peanut butter with Vampyrates #1.
