This is Comic Book Club News for July 3, 2026.

Absolute Batman Rules Spring 2026 Graphic Novel Sales:

In news so unsurprising we could probably rerun previous episodes of this podcast, Absolute Batman dominated the Spring 2026 graphic novel sales chart.

Per ICv2, DC took all 10 slots on the superhero sales chart for the period between January 4 through May 2, 2026. In fact, Absolute Batman Volume 2 led at number one, with Volume 1 at number two, and the hardcover editions at four and five. Meanwhile, Absolute Wonder Woman Volume 2 hit number three, with every slot taken up by another Absolute Universe volume except the seven slot, which went to the Compact Comics edition of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, on the sales tie-in for the new movie.

As with the monthly charts which now split off “by author,” that’s where Invincible ended up, taking up six of the 10 slots for Robert Kirkman’s creation. Also on that chart were Assorted Crisis Events at number six, Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees at number eight, March at number nine, and perhaps also on the strength of Supergirl, Tom King and Bilquis Evely’s Helen of Wyndhorn hit number 10.

Marvel’s DNX Teases October Titles:

This October the DNX event continues as the X-Men and Fantastic Four continue their fight against the villainous 3K. Whither 4K and HDTV? Maybe in November.

In the second act of the event, Marvel is teasing that, the Fantastic Four have amnesia, the X-Men are under attack by John Greycrow, and Psylocke is stalking a monster. The latter two take place in X-Men #39 and #40, two one-shot character pieces that tie into the larger event; while Ryan North concludes a two-parter in Fantastic Four #18, where the memory-lost FF try to help Magneto.

As for DNX #3, the synopsis is mysterious, merely teasing that 3K has fought back in Philadelphia, and the X-Men and Fantastic Four race against time to stop the release of the X-Virus.

The event is planned to conclude in November.

Chew Gets A Reboot:

John Layman and Rob Guillory are rebooting Chew for the Absolute/Ultimate age.

Per Bleeding Cool, if the campaign for their currently running kickstarter Ghostbrawler, reaches $60,000, they’ll add a 12 page story to the book featuring Tony Choo — spelled c-h-o-o — a cibopath who is the Absolute Universe style version of Tony Chu — spelled c-h-u — from the pair’s hit series Chew — spelled c-h-e-w.

Naturally, the cover teasing this is a parody of Absolute Batman #1, because what else would it be? The Kickstarter is running until July 23, and as of this recording is just past $50k.
