Marvel Duck Variant Covers Are Somehow Neither Disney Related Nor A “Duck And Cover” Joke

When I got a press email from Marvel with the subject line “MARVEL DUCK COVERS MAKE A SPLASH WITH QUACKTASTIC TAKES ON MARVEL HEROES” I was like, “Oh, okay, it’s another Disney thing.” But no, it is not another Disney thing. And neither is it a weird “duck and cover” pun. Instead it’s Captain America, Miles Morales, and Spider-Man (regular style) depicted as bath-time rubber duckies.

…What? Why? And why are there only three of them? What is happening here?

In any case, though inexplicable, they are cute as artists Betsy Cola, Chrissie Zullo and Godtail draw these covers which will roll out throughout August. Hot tip: do not put these comics in the bathtub.
