On today’s episode we’re taking a look through the highlights from DC Comics September 2026 solicits, including Legion of Super-Heroes, a Batman crossover and more.

This is Comic Book Club News for June 19, 2026.

DC Comics September 2026 Solicit Highlights:

The DC Comics September 2026 solicits are here, and they’re full of absolute jaw-droppers. To throw out one? The eagerly awaited Legion of Super-Heroes #1 from writer Joshua Williamson features art by none other than Hayden Sherman.

Don’t worry, Sherman isn’t leaving Absolute Wonder Woman, they’re just pulling double duty like a crazy person. Rather than following up on the thread of Darkseid’s Legion that’s been running in current continuity, this is a brand new team in a brand new future, all hooked on a murder mystery: who killed Brande? New? There’s also the debut of Teen Titans from Kyle Higgins and Daniele Di Nicuolo, featuring a new team led by the Red Hood — and of note, this will be running at the same time as the currently running New Titans. And guess what: The Doom Patrol is back from writer Darcy Van Poelgeest and artist Niko Henrichon, now with a “heroes-for-hire business model.”

Over in the Absolute Universe, Cassandra Cain takes center stage in The Shadow’s Hand one-shot spinning out of Absolute Catwoman, written by Che Grayson with art by Matias Bergara. Absolute Superman #23 introduces a “terrifying” version of Toyman. And Absolute Batman #24 ominously teases a battle of Batman versus Batman as “everyone Bruce has ever known, ever cared about, or ever loved will face their ultimate inner demons.”

In the main universe, the Batman: Bad Seeds crossover takes over this month, with Poison Ivy deciding to destroy the city if she can’t save it as mayor. First up is a new two-part series titled Gotham General, with Greg Rucka centering things on the hospital workers in the city. Not to be outdone, Christopher Cantwell goes to Rucka’s old stomping grounds with the two part Gotham Central, with art by Jacob Phillips, focusing on the GCPD. The event also spills over into every other Bat-family title including Batman, Detective Comics and of course, Poison Ivy. Even the previously self-contained Batwoman is getting in on the Bad Seeds madness.

Don’t worry, there are more events at DC in September, with the Superman books taken over by the Kingdom of Zod event, which finds Zod’s army attacking Earth, and the returned Superman and his fam fighting back. That begins in Kingdom of Zod Special #1, and spills over into the other Superman books. Wonder Woman also doesn’t want to be left out of event fever, with the “Wonder War” storyline continuing in both Wonder Woman #37 and an annual focused on villain The Matriarch.

Hey, anyone not getting involved in events? Sure! There’s DC’s Quoth The Raven… Whatever, this month’s anthology featuring spooky stories about Swamp Thing, Constantine, Zatanna, and Deadman. Batman/Superman/Weird Al: World’s Weirdest brings in Al to help save a normalized fifth dimension. Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Scott Godlewski finally finish their Man of Steel epic in Adventures of Superman: Book of El #12. And Wes Craig launches the Black Label, Golden Age inspired series Superman: The Stranger.
