Bloodshot Takes On Cammy In 'Street Fighter Vs. The Valiant Universe'

It’s been a bit of an odd year for Valiant, to put it kindly, what with accusations of AI usage on an upcoming app, and the ongoing controversy around the writer of Bloodshot. So it’s nice to see some silly fun news from the publisher for a change (through Alien Books) with the announcement of Street Fighter Vs. The Valiant Universe.

Written by Tim Seeley with art by Alfredo Cardona, the one-shot will feature a title bout with Bloodshot taking on Cammy White, with a back-up that pits Ninjak against Dhalism. What, not enough room to have Blanka fight Archer and Armstrong? LAME.

Here’s a little bit about the plot, which features — get this — Cammy and Bloodshot fighting until they are forced to team up:

Two of the most recognizable action franchises of the ’90s collide as Cammy White, elite operative of Delta Red, crosses paths with Bloodshot, Valiant’s nanite-enhanced super-soldier, during a mission deep in the mountains of northeastern Africa. Both are hunting the same target: a hidden Shadaloo operation pushing human experimentation into dangerous new territory.

What begins as a confrontation quickly turns into an uneasy alliance as the two discover a shared past, each controlled and weaponized by forces beyond their control. Their mission leads them into a remote lab where those same ideas have been taken even further, with consequences neither of them can ignore.

The Ninjak vs. Dhalism story, meanwhile, is by Timmy Heague with art by Pablo Rey, and is a “stylized, reality-bending duel that leans into the more mystical side of the Street Fighter universe.”

If you’re curious about the comic, there’s “early access” at San Diego Comic-Con, presumably at the Alien Books booth, which will distribute it a week early.
