If you thought Patrick Horvath’s horror hit Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees would sit out spooky season? You thought wrong, as IDW has announced Beneath the Trees Where Nobody See: Halloween Special, featuring scary stories from Horvath and several other comic book superstars.
Those superstars include James Tynion IV, Tyler Boss, Tony Fleecs, Dave Wachter, Che Grayson, Matt Emmons, and Jared Cullum, all telling tales from the perspective of the precious animal citizens of Woodbrook sitting around a campfire and telling stories (one would have thought they’d like to stay away from fire after the horrifying end of Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: Rite of Spring, but I digress).
“I’m thrilled to invite some new friends to play for a bit in the world of BENEATH THE TREES WHERE NOBODY SEES,” Horvath said, via press release. “Every new step this project has taken has been such a treat, and I felt like there’s no better time for it than Halloween. I can’t wait for readers to see what these new creators have in store for them.”
But wait, that’s not all! The issue will also feature covers by Horvath, Peace Momoko, Fleecs (doing his Stray Dogs/Feral thing with a movie homage cover), and J. Gonzo. When does Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: Halloween Special hit stores? Some time in October, of course. And if that wasn’t enough, IDW also teases more news about BTTWNS is coming in a month’s time at San Diego Comic-Con.
