Back in the very fun Web of Venom #1, readers met a brand new symbiote who is not Venom, but looks like Venom, wearing a costume fashioned after Spider-Man, but is not Spider-Man. Instead, it’s Fred Myers, aka Boomerang, now called Comeback, and he’s getting his own five-issue series titled Amazing Venom.
Confused? That’s okay, that’s part of the comedy as writer Jordan Morris and artist Luke Ross send Comeback to Klyntar, the homeworld of the symbiotes.
“Boomerang has always been one of my favorite Marvel anti-heroes and sticking him with a hyperactive symbiote in Web of Venom was a bonkers amount of fun,” Morris said via press release. “I’m so stoked that we can continue their adventure in THE AMAZING VENOM! Readers are in for a wild slurry of action, comedy and (gasp!) maybe even a little character growth for everyone’s favorite boomerang-hurling scumbag!”
Taking place in the fallout of the Queen in Black crossover, Comeback and his symbiote — Passenger — are headed into space, because why not?
Amazing Venom #1 hits stores on September 16, 2026, featuring covers by Stefano Casseli, Luke Ross, and even an homage variant by Erik Larsen — as well as a foil variant by Matteo Lolli.
