Will Jeff Probst Join The Avengers? Marvel Teases “Earth’s Mightiest Survivors”

The other day here on this ol’ website I was lamenting how the schedule of how comics are promoted leads to things like Queen In Black not yet debuting from Marvel, but we already have a pretty fair idea of how it ends. Well, add Avengers: Armageddon to that pile, as tomorrow we’ll find out what’s following that event, which also hasn’t started.

Specifically, the House of Ideas sent over a teaser that simply says “Earth’s Mightiest Survivors” alongside the text that following Avengers: Armageddon, you’ll get an “all-new era” of the titular team.

While we’ve got about 24 hours until Marvel posts that Wolverine and Spider-Man are back on the Avengers alongside Super Dave (aka David Colton, the Captain America of the 2000s given fantastic powers by writer Chip Zdarsky in the Wolverine: Weapons of Armageddon series), let’s speculate. Actually, one bit we can throw out there with some certainty: Zdarsky will be writing Avengers after this is all over. I’m not going to bet my kids’ college funds on Kalshi over this or anything, because predictive markets are the tool of the devil. But Zdarsky teased some big news coming in his newsletter yesterday, and this is likely that.

Otherwise, what can we take from the “survivors” thing? Alongside the Armageddon title, it seems more than likely we’ll get a status quo shift (again) for the Marvel Universe that’s more than Red Hulk taking over Latveria. Whether that’s a post-apocalypse scenario, or “heroes are outlaws now” — something that’s been brewing in the background of all of Zdarsky’s writing — or something else, TBD.

But to speculate even more wildly, what if the new Avengers are all cast-mates of Survivor? And Jeff Probst is their leader? And maybe Destiny’s Child, who famously sung “Survivor” will be there too!

Anyway, articles have to be a certain length, is my point.
