This is Comic Book Club News for June 4, 2026.
Ben H. Winters Takes Over Archie #1 From W. Maxwell Prince:
Oni Press’s new take on Archie #1 will not be written by Ice Cream Man‘s W. Maxwell Prince, as originally announced. Instead, Ben H. Winters of the critically acclaimed series Benjamin is taking on writing duties for the title.
Nothing nefarious there, most likely, as the busy Prince is working on Ice Cream Man, as well as DC’s The Deadman. And Winters seems to be ready to deliver a classic, earnest take on the Town With Pep, alongside artists Fábio Moon and Nick Cagnetti in the September debuting title.
While that’s the big news, Oni also keeps hyping up October’s Sabrina the Teenage Witch #1, and November’s Archie in Hell #1, both of which are sticking with their previously announced creative teams for the moment — which would be Corinna Bechko and Kano, and Patrick Horvath and Tyler Crook, respectively.

DC GO! Gets Its First Event Series:
Big stuff is going down with DC Comics webcomic platform DC GO!, as the publisher has announced not just their first-ever crossover event, but also three new original series, five returning series — and several titles coming to print for the first time.
First up? Three series returns for new seasons, starting with Jon Kent: This Internship is My Kryptonite, which is returning… Right now! Then there’s The Magical Mysteries of Shazam! and Nothing Butt Nightwing, which will be back in August and September respectively.
You’re probably wondering about that crossover, though. Starting in October, “Runway to Ruin!” will begin with an Alpha episode, weaving “storylines from across the slate throughout the month, culminating in an Omega episode.” And that will be followed by three new series. Warriors and a Wee Wonder will make way for the new Warriors and a Tween Wonder, while Harley Quinn in Paradise will head to a new locale for Poison Ivy in Briarwood.
As for the print collection, Nothing Butt Nightwing Volume 1 will collect episode 1-13, Harley Quinn in Paradise Vol. 1 will also collect episodes 1-13, and Renaissance of Raven will collect the full series. All three will be released in stores in October.
Second Stan Lee Spider-Man Comic Strips Collection Hits Kickstarter:
A second Stan Lee Spider-Man comic strip collection has hit Kickstarter. Started by Clover Press, the new deluxe softcover will collect strips from 1981-1984, all written by Lee and drawn by various artists.
Following up on the previous collection, this one also was funded almost instantly, and now sits at over $150k on a $5k goal, as of this recording. And the Kickstarter isn’t just for one book — it’s for four more volumes, one for each year in the series.
You can pledge the Kickstarter yourself until June 26.
