I haven’t asked them this, but I have to imagine back when Tom King and Bilquis Evely were crafting DC’s best-selling Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, they didn’t think, “You know what? This would make some great chicken sauces.” And yet, with Supergirl — based on the book — about to hit theaters, that’s exactly what’s happening as KFC will launch a Supergirl themed meal, a Krypto chicken bucket, and sauces themed around Lobo, Ruthye, and more.
Okay, let’s break this down a little further, because this is a lot to process. And like Supergirl in the book — and movie — you might feel a little drunk after hearing it.
While the movie doesn’t hit theaters until June 26, 2026, starting on June 8 participating KFC’s nationwide will start selling the KFC Supergirl Ultimate Meal. That includes three Original Recipe chicken tenders, eight nuggets, three different Supergirl sauces (we’ll get to those in a second), a biscuit, a choice of side, and a Kryptonian Kooler. What’s that, you ask? It’s a 21 oz blend of Starry, Blue Raspberry Syrup, and Strawberry Boba. It also comes with a blind-bagged collectible keychain (which we’ll also get to in a second).
Too much for your main man? How about the KFC Supergirl Combo Meal? That includes your choice of the tenders or the nuggets, all three sauces (I swear I’m getting to them in a second), a biscuit, your choice of side, and a regular fountain drink.
Okay fine, let’s talk sauces. Here they are per PR from KFC provided to Comic Book Club:
- Supergirl’s Solar Honey Mustard: A bold, golden mustard sauce that hits with bright tang, honey-sweet balance and a sweet-heat finish inspired by the power Supergirl draws from the yellow sun.
- Ruthye’s Sweet Chili Revenge: A sticky, sweet-and-spicy chili garlic sauce that starts smooth and sweet, then builds to a savory garlic kick and gentle heat—because revenge is best served sweet.
- Lobo’s Wild Ranch: A bold, savory ranch that includes everything from garlic, onion, herbs, sesame to poppy seed particulates—classic, creamy and just unpredictable enough for Lobo.
Next up? Let’s chat collectibles, including that Krypto Collectible Bucket. It is — of course — inspired by collectible popcorn buckets, and features:
- A Puppy Krypto-inspired collectible lid
- Bold Supergirl-themed bucket artwork
