The official trailer for Marvel’s X-Men ’97 Season 2 is here, and as we left them in the Season 1 finale, they’re lost in time. Specifically, in three different time periods, plagued by the baddie Apocalypse. And they need to get home, but what isn’t known at this time is: what year? Or era?
You can of course watch the trailer for yourself, which includes wild swings like the introduction of sentient Danger Room, Danger, or the iconic New X-Men uniforms, and a host of guest stars including Deadpool. But at now point in the two-ish minute look does anyone specify what time period they need to get the X-Men to… Is it the 1970s? The 2000s? Perhaps 1856?
I wish I knew, and if I did know, I wish someone or someones would inexplicably say the same thing twice in the trailer, like you had some sort of concussion midway through and couldn’t figure out based on the title of the show what year the X-Men have to go back to. Perhaps the year “ten” since “X” is the Roman numeral for ten?
I guess we’ll never know!

Meanwhile, back in the 1990s, suspicious foes and new strains of mutant intolerance are on the rise in the wake of the X-Men’s absence.
The second season of the original animated series features 9 episodes, and the voice cast includes Ross Marquand as Professor X, Matthew Waterson as Magneto, Ray Chase as Cyclops, Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, Cal Dodd as Wolverine, Lenore Zann as Rogue, and George Buza as Beast. The series is executive produced by Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt, Julia Lewald, Eric Lewald, Larry Houston, and Beau DeMayo. The supervising producer is Jake Castorena. Episodes written by JB Ballard, Beau DeMayo, Bailey Moore, Antony Sellitti, Brian Ford Sullivan, and Mariah Wilson. The episodic directors are Emmett Yonemura and Chase Conley.
