On today’s episode we’re taking a look through the highlights from Marvel Comics’ August 2026 solicits, including the Midnight Universe, anniversary celebrations, and more.

This is Comic Book Club News for May 26, 2026.

Marvel August 2026 Solicit Highlights:

First up is the heavily hyped Midnight X-Men #1, the kick-off of a brand new horror publishing line. Like with the Ultimate Universe, this will release one new title a month for the moment, this one by Jonathan Hickman and Matteo Della Fonte, as mutants and vampires battle in the streets… And in the sheets? That last part was unknown as of recording time.

In regular X-Men news, DNX #1 brings together the mutants and Fantastic Four to battle a deadly virus teased during the Age of Revelation event. Fantastic Four #15 celebrates 65 years of the book as Johnny’s mustache saves New York. And Mortal Thor #14 is legacy numbered 800, so you know stuff is about to go down — plus it includes a back-up story by Chris Condon and Jesse Lonergan. And back to X-Men, Tomb of Apocalypse sends Jubilee grave-digging with Wolverine.

Amazing Spider-Man releases not one, not two, but three issues in August leading up to the legacy numbered issue #1000, and promises big changes and revelations for the web-slinger. Meanwhile, his sometimes girlfriend celebrates 60 years with the Mary Jane: Face It, Tiger one-shot. Miles Morales: Spider-Man swings into a new number one from Bryan Hill, Nico Leon and Val De Landro. And Kevin Smith pens Spider-Man/Hulk: Fire and Brimstone, a four issue miniseries that finds Spidey and Daredevil trying to exorcise the Hulk. Exorcise. Not “exercise.”

More events? Sure! Avengers: Armageddon #3 finds Wolverine recruiting the new Avengers as the battle against Red Hulk rages on. And Queen in Black continues Hela and Knull’s dual attacks on Earth in the third issue of the main series and multiple spinoff series and one-shots.

Plus, Marvel Tókon: First Strike tees up the new fighting game coming to consoles. And What If…? Runaways finds lauded writer Rainbow Rowell asking: what if they didn’t run away?

For Comic Book Club News, I’m Alex Zalben… In the sheets. Wink.
