Today, as we all know, is World Dracula Day, a time to celebrate the immortal bloodsucker in your life who visits you in the night, entrancing you with his hypnotic gaze and luring you to the balcony in your flimsy nightgown, blowing in the breeze, a flush of red creeping up your bosom as the chill night air hits your skin. Goosebumps, prickling across the pale skin of your arms as an unknown feeling — is this lust? fear? both? — fills your loins and warms your heart. Or maybe that’s just me? I dunknow.
Anyway, Matt Wagner and Kelley Jones are launching the Kickstarter for the final volume in their reimagining of the classic Dracula tale with Dracula: Book IV – The Undead, and we’ve got a teaser image below. If you’re not familiar, over the previous three volumes the award-winning duo have built up their own take on the history of Dracula, from his beginnings to his transformation into a creature of the night.
And now, they’re ready to present what happened in Bram Stoker’s 1897 classic, through their own eyes. All four of them. And that’s not a nerd joke, there are two creators and they have two eyes each. Math!
Like the previous three volumes, The Undead will be presented in large-scale European format.
