It’s a weird fifth week again for new comics this week, when publishers put out a strange array of titles. That includes most of the Free Comic Book Day/Comics Giveaway Day items hitting stores, though they won’t be available until May 2. But whatever! Let’s talk about the new comics hitting stores for April 29, 2026.
DC Comics is only releasing four titles this week, but they’re all doozies. First up, Swamp Thing 1989 #1, finally printing Rick Veitch’s lost story from over 30 years ago. Then there’s the Justice League Intergalactic Special #1, which brings Dreamer and Galaxy to the Justice League. Zatanna #1 is a new ongoing Next Level title from Jamal Campbell. And finally, Jeph Loeb and Jim Cheung tell an untold tale from between Hush and H2SH in Batman/Wonder Woman: Truth #1.
Over at Marvel, we’ve got the penultimate issue of The Ultimates as Deniz Camp and company return to Asgard. And we’ve got the ultimate, aka last issue of Planet She-Hulk with issue #6, as Jennifer Walters is maybe trapped on Sakaar forever? Guess we’ll see!
Speaking of final issues, Image Comics released The Sacrificers #21, the end of Rick Remender’s latest devastating epic. Dark Horse has another Hellboy in Love one shot, this time titled Black Eyes. And IDW brings on Street Sharks Annual 2026 #1.
