This is Comic Book Club News for April 22, 2026.
Do A Powerbomb Is Back In Black And White:
Daniel Warren Johnson’s wrestling fantasy Do A Powerbomb is back in black and white format from Image Comics, with a new printing that gets rid of all those pesky colors.
Said Johnson via press release, “Do A Powerbomb was the essence of a labor of love, and it all started with simple pen and ink. I’m proud to present this story in its very first iteration, in full black and white. What an honor to have this book back on the stands!”
In the book, a young wrestler living under the shadow of her mother is asked to join a deadly, universal tournament… And that’s just the beginning of the emotional surprises and big action in the beloved series.
The first three issues of Do A Powerbomb Black and White will hit in July, with issue number one powerbombing into stores on July 8.
Miles Morales Returns In New Marvel Series:
Miles Morales, who you may know better as Spider-Man, is back in a new ongoing series from Marvel. What’s it called? Miles Morales: Spider-Man.
Featuring the new creative team of Bryan Edward Hill and Nico Leon, the series picks up after Miles’s return from the Ultimate Universe, and now he’s trying to balance family, friends, and fights… That is until a “dangerous secret from his father’s S.H.I.E.L.D. past returns with a vengeance and threatens the lives of everyone he holds dear.”
Miles is currently appearing in The Amazing Spider-Man: Spider-Versity, and might also tie into Reborn: Ultimate Impact, though TBD. Miles Morales: Spider-Man #1 hits stores on August 12, 2026.
Badrock Series Spins Off From Youngblood:
Badrock is getting a spinoff series from Rob Liefeld’s Youngblood. And no, this is not a news item from 1993.
Alongside artist Seth Damoose, the new series kicks off when Badrock’s mother is kidnapped, and he has to, per a press release, “submit to the demands of her mysterious abductors.”
Said Liefeld, “he must overcome a gauntlet of villainy and manipulation that he had never encountered! It’s a personal journey with an emotional core that pushes Badrock as he has never been pressed before!”
Badrock #1 hits stores on July 15, 1993. Sorry, I mean 2026.
