On today’s episode we’re breaking down the highlights from DC Comics July 2026 solicits, including Absolute Universe and much more.
This is Comic Book Club News for April 20, 2026.
DC Comics July 2026 Solicit Highlights:
It’s a big month for Superman in July as Action Comics #1100 features a slew of creators paying tribute to the Man of Steel. But if you’re wondering where he’s headed next, look no further than Superman 2026 Annual: Year One Thousand by Joshua Williamson, Eddy Barrows, and Yasmine Putri, which sends Kal-El to the future after the events of DC K.O. to try and save the Legion of Super-Heroes. And Superman #40 finds Superboy Prime tangling with Manchester Black, and the solicit teasing it builds up to “next month’s Superman blockbuster summer story.” Dudes, summer is almost over, get on it.
Over in the Absolute Universe, Absolute Batman #22 reveals Harley Quinn’s origin, alongside the origin of the Robins — and that Batman has been defeated. Absolute Superman #21 teases that “Reign of the Superman” begins, with possibly a new Superman. And Absolute Green Arrow #3 reveals Green Arrow is not Roy Harper, as many fans suspected — and that Roy Harper is a lady.
Vertigo launches 100 Bullets: The US Of Anger from Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso, continuing the story of the violent classic, now set in 2026. Not Vertigo — it’s Black Label — but close enough, Swamp Thing 1989 #4 finally concludes Rick Veitch’s saga, three decades after it was supposed to be released.
Clayface: Celebrity Dirt is a five issue miniseries where the Batman baddie finds himself being impersonated. Curiously in the middle of the Wonder War storyline, Wonder Woman #35 is another fill-in from Stephanie Williams and Clayton Henry. Dark Knights of Steel II continues the medieval world of the original series, in a new Elseworlds tale, as well as a one-shot telling Aquaman’s origin titled Heir to the Sea.
Another one-shot? Justice League: Knight Vision Special by Mark Waid and Joshua Williamson, which teams up Batman and Lex Luthor to investigate new villains that have popped up to threaten the world. Another one? Detective Comics 2026 Annual by Tom Taylor and Nicola Scott pits Batman against Lobo. Another one??? This month’s anthology is DC’s Hawk-Girl Summer — you get it — featuring stories of the DC heroes and villains hitting the beach.
