DC To Release Supergirl Movie Art Book:
This June, Supergirl is hitting the big screen in a new DC Studios movie. But the story the movie is based on, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, by Tom King and Bilquis Evely, has been a hit for years. Now, a new art book from DC titled From Comic to Screen: The Art of Supergirl will trace the journey from one to the other.
Running 224 pages, the book by James Field will feature a new cover by Evely, as well as an intro by DC Studios and an afterword by Jim Lee. In the middle, the hardcover will take a look at, per a press release provided to Comic Book Club, “the artistic process behind both works, offering an in-depth look at how a contemporary vision of a DC icon is shaped, refined, and brought to life on the page and ultimately the big screen.”
That includes concept art, production design, annotated script pages, and “never-before-seen materials that illuminate the dialogue between comic and film.” Neat! From Comic to Screen: The Art of Supergirl hits stores on September 29, 2026.
Ben 10 Sells 82,000 Copies To Stores:
Anticipation is high for Dynamite’s upcoming comic book revamp of Ben 10, from the original creators of the animated series. And per the publisher, the first issue of the comic book has sold more than 82,000 copies to comic book stores.
Interestingly, the initial orders for the book were relatively low: 6,000 units, which frankly, does not quite match the anticipation I’ve been seeing from fans online (perhaps they’re waiting for digital versions). While usually those numbers are about 25% to 30% of the Final Order Cutoff (FOC) numbers, instead of hitting somewhere between 18,600 and 24,000 copies, that grew exponentially.
Breaking it down further, 13,000 of the 82,000 comics ordered by shops are Mystery Blind Bags, while a little over 16,000 were retailer exclusive and limited-edition high-end covers. That leaves about 53,000 copies that have been ordered by stores beyond that, which is still pretty strong in the current comic book climate.
The first arc will be written by Joe Casey, with the rest of the Man of Action team joining on subsequent arcs. Ben 10 #1 hits stores on May 6, 2026.
Clayface Miniseries Coming This July:
This Fall, Clayface is breaking out on his own for a new body horror movie coming to theaters. And wouldn’t you know it, DC Comics will publish Clayface: Celebrity Dirt, a new six-issue horror series for the character, hitting stores starting this July.
Written by Jude Ellison S. Doyle, with art by Fran Galán, Clayface: Celebrity Dirt finds Basil Karlo confronted with a doppelgänger who has stolen the fame he’s always wanted by pretending to be him. And in fact, a new plague is “twisting ordinary citizens into clay-warped reflections of his own nightmares, and a charismatic body double has taken over Basil’s life, becoming a bigger movie star than the real Basil ever was.”
Clayface: Celebrity Dirt #1 hits stores on July 8, 2026.
