It’s another weird week for new comics on April 8, 2026, as Dark Horse sits this one out, and some of the other publishers release far fewer comics than usual. But that’s okay, there are still plenty of new comics this week to enjoy, so let’s talk highlights!
DC Comics continues to go Next Level with The Fury of Firestorm #1, which offers a dark take on the Nuclear Man from Jeff Lemire and Rafael De Latorre. Meanwhile, Action Comics #1097 introduces some modern heroes to Superboy, and Emperor Aquaman #16 finds Arthur attempting to establish the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda. Oops, sorry, I meant Atlantis.
Over at Marvel, Web of Venom #1 introduces a new symbiote to a familiar character. The Amazing Spider-Man #26 picks up on the shocking death in last week’s issue of the Death Spiral crossover. And Uncanny X-Men #26 promises a big twist that’s been set up since the beginning of the book.
BOOM! brings on the darkly comic Neighborhood Watch #1 from Sarah Gailey and Haining. Dynamite finally kicks off their big crossover with ThunderCats x SilverHawks #1. And IDW brings on Godzilla’s Monsterpiece Theatre Presents: Romeo and Juliet and Godzilla.
