Invincible is going to war with the Viltrumites in this week’s episode, featuring at least one surprising twist for fans of the comics. Wondering who’s who in Invincible’s trip to space in Season 4, Episode 5 “Give Us A Moment,” from Tech Jacket to Tech Jacket’s Suit AI? Read on.
Before we get there, though, a brief recap for context, and spoilers past this point (though you can get a longer Season 4, Episode 5 recap on our podcast). Picking up off last week’s cliffhanger, Nolan and Allen the Alien are back on Earth, both to recruit Tech Jacket and, of course, Mark. This leads to Nolan’s apology tour — something Mark warns him against, starting with Debbie. And, er, oops, that does not go well, with Debbie punching Nolan so hard she breaks her hand.
Meanwhile, Tech Jacket is fighting a baddie named The Walking Dread (huh, weird, what does that sound like, Robert Kirkman?), and takes off his helmet and… Whoa, Tech Jacket’s a lady, dude! Or rather, a girl named Zoe, versus “Zack” from the comics.
Back with the Graysons, Oliver is pissed off he hasn’t been asked to go to space to fight the Viltrumites, and also that his father has not said hello to him, since he hasn’t seen Nolan since he was a baby. Nolan, though, is busy having a tense beer with costumer Art, who refuses to give Nolan a new look. “I dress heroes, Nolan,” Art says, and somehow isn’t killed instantly.
Nolan and Mark head off on the not-Star Trek ship, with Oliver stowed away, and over a two week journey they bristle and bond. More so, Oliver bonds with Zoe, who is about his age. But they quickly run into a problem: Viltrumites, including Conquest, who Mark thought was dead.
Mark and Conquest have a bloody, devastating battle, with Mark biting off Conquest’s finger, and Conquest pulling all of Mark’s internal organs out. Ultimately, Mark chokes Conquest to death, but Mark isn’t looking too hot either. And while Mark is laying down nearly dead on an alien planet, Allen the Alien and Tech Jacket are hiding on the side of a Viltrumite ship, very much in danger.

Invincible Season 4, Episode 5 “Give Us A Moment” Cast: Who’s Who In The Voice Cast?
As usual, we won’t hit the main cast, who you are likely familiar with by now (or check out our list below). Instead, let’s hit the highlights, starting with Zoe, aka Tech Jacket, who is voiced by Zoey Deutch. You might know her from the movies Set It Up or Zombieland: Double Tap, or her roles on The CW’s Ringer or Netflix’s The Politician. Coming up, you can see her in the movies Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass as the titular Gail Daughtry, and Voicemails For Isabelle.
Playing the voice of Zoe’s Suit AI is none other than Levar Burton, who you likely know as Geordi La Forge from Star Trek: The Next Generation, or as host of Reading Rainbow. And it’s a little weird because there’s a TNG parody in this very episode, but not with Burton. Additionally, Zoe’s dad, Ed, is voiced by Bobby Moynihan, who you likely know from SNL, or more recently the voice of King George in Pixar’s Hoppers, as well as his role on NBC’s The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins.
Scott Aukerman, host of hit podcast Comedy Bang! Bang! once again voices the role of the not-Jean Luc Picard, aka The Captain, while Orphan Black and She-Hulk star Tatiana Maslany also returns as the voice of Telia, as well as GDA Agent #1. Meanwhile, vocal legend Phil Lamarr is the voice of Lucan and The Walking Dread. Among other voices, Lamarr is known for Samurai Jack, as well as playing John Stewart/Green Lantern and Static on Static Shock. On Invincible, Lamarr has previously voiced Salamander and Sidekick.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, aka Negan from The Walking Dead — oh yeah, that’s what Walking Dread sounds like — is the voice of Conquest, while Andrew Morgado steps up from “Additional Voices” this episode to play the voice of Kradd. Other than prolific voice work, Morgado recently played Lilly’s dad on HBO’s IT: Welcome to Derry.
