As usual, Image Comics has a wealth of interesting books coming to stores in the month of April 2026. Sure that includes an array of blockbuster Energon Universe books. But there are plenty of intriguing titles beyond that, from a surprising spinoff, to continuing series and the (almost) ending of one serial killer tournament.

1. Royals #1
Release Date: April 1, 2026
Sadly not based on the Lorde song, nevertheless this is a new book from Derek Kirk Kim (who created The Last Mermaid), so a reason to bow down. If you’re wondering what it’s about? Twins using their psychic connection to cheat at cards, until they run afoul of the local crime syndicate.
2. Transformers #31
Release Date: April 8, 2026
A standalone Megatron story that Skybound has been hyping up for a while, it’ll be interesting to see what they do with ol’ gun arm.
3. D’Orc #3
Release Date: April 8, 2026
One of the biggest new comics from Image, the series has nicely balanced comedy and forward plot momentum so far. Let’s see if Brett Bean makes it a hat trick!
4. Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #8
Release Date: April 15, 2026
Another huge hit for Skybound, this book has channeled Robert Kirkman’s most ridiculous impulses, and leaned into Ryan Ottley’s penchant for the disgusting. Hey, bring it on!
5. Ice Cream Man #45
Release Date: April 15, 2026
It hasn’t quite been a year since the last issue of Ice Cream Man hit stands, but it’s close (minus a deck of cards the team released). This time around, they’re taking on Hitchcock.
6. Fireborn #1
Release Date: April 15, 2026
Spinning out of the underrated Lost Fantasy, this series comes from co-writer Franklin Jonas and focuses on a dude who bonds with a dragon egg. Sweet!
7. Exquisite Corpses #12
Release Date: April 22, 2026
This is the second-to-last issue of the hit series, which is interesting because there are only two killers left. Which makes me even more interested to find out what happens next issue.
8. Head Lopper #1
Release Date: April 22, 2026
Head Lopper is back, baby! Andrew Maclean’s cult hit series features a guy who lops heads, a witch’s head who hangs out with him, and also, heads that get lopped. That’s all you need to know!
9. In Your Skin #1
Release Date: April 22, 2026
Aditya Bidikar takes on writing and art duties here for a new title about a Bollywood fan who meets her idol, and things only get worse from there.
10. Feral #22
Release Date: April 29, 2026
After the jaw-dropping ending of the last issue, this one is a must read as — spoilers past this point — the Stray Dogs characters have made their way into Feral.
11. Red Roots #1
Release Date: April 29, 2026
Honestly don’t know much about this other than it’s written and drawn by Lorenzo De Felici, and that’s enough for me! Also it features a high school teacher and professional killer whose lives get intertwined. Supernaturally.
