After yesterday’s Superman tease, the full trailer for Supergirl has arrived, featuring a more complete look at the movie debuting on June 26.
And here, we finally get to the plot they’ve been dancing around for a while, which comes straight from the comic by Tom King and Bilquis Evely… After encountering a brigand named Krem of the Yellow Hills (Matthias Schoenaerts), Supergirl (Milly Alcock) heads off into space with a young girl named Ruthye (Eve Ridley) to get an antidote to the poison arrow that’s downed Krypto the Superdog. Oh, and otherwise he’ll die in three days.
In the trailer, we finally get a good look at not just the plot, but also those aforementioned characters, and Jason Momoa as Lobo, aka The Main Man, as he tussles with and teams up with Supergirl.
Here’s the official synopsis, per Warner Bros:
“Supergirl,” DC Studios’ newest feature film to hit the big screen, will be in theaters worldwide this summer from Warner Bros. Pictures, starring Milly Alcock in the dual role of Supergirl/Kara Zor-El. Craig Gillespie directs the film from a screenplay by Ana Nogueira.
When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice.
Alcock stars alongside Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Jason Momoa.
