Marvel Reveals ‘Queen In Black’ Preview Pages, Covers, Gross Looking Goop

It’s time for your annual dose of goop as Marvel has revealed preview pages and so many covers for Queen in Black #1, this year’s symbiote event.

Written by Al Ewing with art by Iban Coello, the event finds Knull building a new army to destroy Earth, only Hela — who is now at the head of a symbiote army of her own — got there first. And of course, yer regular array of Venoms from Mary Jane to Dylan Brock are caught in the middle.

“The only threat bigger than one evil God is two of them fighting each other, with Earth caught right in the middle,” Ewing said via press release. “As an old-school ‘60s Marvel villain, Hela’s a great match-up against the newer school of Knull, especially given the steps she’s been taking to get onto his level. There can only be one winner – but whoever wins, it’s the worst news possible for our heroes.”

In addition to the interior pages, Queen in Black will also have the now requisite Blind Bag covers, including ones by J. Scott Campbell, Jeehyung Lee, John Romita Jr., and Pat Gleason. There are also blind bag exclusive covers from Artgerm Gurihiru, Lee, Gleason, and David Marquez, with more to be revealed later. Keeping with the revised take on their Blind Bags, Marvel will only offer exclusive variant covers in the bags — not the regular covers, which was pretty annoying the first time around. Or so I hear.
