Invincible is back in action with one episode this week (we were so spoiled on premiere week), an entirely original story based on a tale creator Robert Kirkman never got to tell in the comic. Wondering who’s who in Invincible’s hellish vacation in Season 4, Episode 4 “Hurm,” from Domina and Volcanikka to Satan himself? Read on.
Before we get there, though, a brief recap for context, and spoilers past this point (though you can get a longer Season 4, Episode 4 recap on our podcast). We kick off with Mark having a moody talk with Art, setting up the idea of the episode: can Mark get out of “I killed people” funk? Let’s find out!
Meanwhile, in “hell” and I’m putting this in quotes because we later find out it’s essentially the center of the Earth versus an after-life dimension, there’s a way going on between Damien Darkblood, his sister Domina, and the fire-powered Volcanikka. I don’t want to get too in the weeds here, but the short version — as we discover later — is that demons, led by Satan, are good, and have been protecting the Earth for millennia from vicious creatures buried in the magma. Volcanikka wants to free them and rule the world, with only Damien and Satan standing in her way.
To help out, Satan and Damien summon Invincible to hell, where he was in the middle of fighting Ka-Hor, the Egyptian entity who pops up once a season and is a huge misognynist. However, in a triumph for feminism, he takes over the the body of tomb raider (lower-case) Riley, and finds it’s actually okay to feel like a woman.
Back to hell, after laying out a bunch of mythology about the six different ages of existence (in order: old ones, monsters, Volcanikka’s monsters, Satan trapped them, demons, and they’re now in the sixth age), Damien and Invincible jump down a nearly bottomless pit and fight Cerberus for Satan’s molten crown. They get it, Satan returns to his old form, and ultimately they beat back Volcanikka together — at least, for now. Satan sends Damien to Earth to deal with the ongoing threat, and we have yet another dangling plotline on this show.
Meanwhile, Eve tells William that she’s pregnant, Debbie tells Mark she’s going to sell the house and move in with Paul, and Mark puts on his old costume again. All that, and before Eve can tell Mark about the baby, who shows up but Omni-Man and Allen the Alien. “I’m sorry Mark, there’s no other way,” says Nolan. “We need you. The time for war is upon us.” Bum-ba-BUM!

Invincible Season 4, Episode 4 “Hurm” Cast: Who’s Who In The Voice Cast?
A relatively more focused episode of the series means less cast-members, but still plenty of fun surprises. As usual, we won’t break down the regular cast, but to get into the guest stars…
Agents of S.H.I.E.LD. star Chloe Bennet returns as Riley, the adventurer, alongside the legendary Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs, etc, etc) as Ka-Hor. Brown pulls double-duty this episode as he’s also the voice of Damien Darkblood.
Returning from the mid-credits scene on the Season 3 finale is another legend: Bruce Campbell, aka Ashley J. Williams himself, as the voice of the demon now revealed to be Satan. And rounding out the demonic trio is Captain Janeway from Star Trek: Voyager, Kate Mulgrew, as the voice of Domina.
On the opposing side of things is Indira Varma as the voice of Volcanikka. You likely know her as Ellaria Sand from Game of Thrones, or more recently the voice of The Bride on HBO Max’s Creature Commandos.
And one more voice actor to highlight: Brandon Scott Jones, who you may know as Captain Isaac Higgintoot from CBS’ hit series Ghosts has replaced Andrew Rannells as the voice of William, which he played for the first three seasons.

Season 4 of Invincible will premiere on Prime Video on Wednesday, March 18 at 3 am ET / 12 am PT with three new episodes. New episodes will then roll out one a week until the season finale on April 22, 2026.
