This is Comic Book Club News for March 18, 2026.

Doctor Doom Is Back In Captain America #12:

Doctor Doom seemingly died forever or faded away or something at the end of Marvel’s One World Under Doom. And now, because there’s a movie coming, he’s back in June’s Captain America #12… And is a key part of the countdown to the next event, Avengers: Armageddon.

Written by Chip Zdarsky with art by Valerio Schiti, as the world unites against Red Hulk — who has taken over Latveria — who should need Cap’s help other than Doom himself?

Said Zdarsky via press release, “I love writing Doom. After my first arc with him and Cap, I knew I needed them to meet again! Their dynamic is incredibly fun and this encounter will change both characters for a very long time!”

Why is Doom back? And how? Find out when Captain America #12 hits stores on June 24, 2026.

DC Announces Three New Elseworlds Titles:

What if DC Comics released three new Elseworlds titles? Well, no need to imagine the possibilities because the publisher has indeed announced three titles coming to the alternate universe line: Supergirl: Survive, Superman: Father of Tomorrow, and sequel series Dark Knights of Steel II.

First out of the gate is Superman: Father of Tomorrow, written by Kenny Porter with art and covers by Danny Earls, which hits stores on May 27. In the book, Jor-El takes a rocket to Earth and gets adopted (?) by the Kents, instead of Kal-El. Will they swaddle Jor-El like a baby? Stay tuned.

Then on June 3, another riff on everyone’s favorite comic book character, Superman’s baby rocket, as Ethan S. Parker and Griffin Sheridan, alongside art and covers by Rod Reis, tells the story of what would happen if Kara Zor-El and baby Kal-El were sent in the rocket together, and had to survive throughout the universe.

Finally, on July 15, writer Tom Taylor and artist Yasmine Putri are back for Dark Knights of Steel II. While we don’t have much info on that one, it’ll be set in the same medieval take on the DC Universe as the original series.

Skybound Finally Reveals Wolf Man Comic:

Pretty much ever since Skybound kicked off its Universal Monsters line of books, fans have asked “what about the Wolf Man?” Well, question answered as Joshua Williamson and Leomacs will tackle Universal Monsters: Blood of the Wolf Man, a four-issue series, starting this June.

In the series, college student Adam Jaeger is trying to reinvent himself, when he finds that after a massacre at a party, he’s going through some changes. Is he, perhaps, responsible for the massacre? And more importantly, how good is he at playing basketball?

Teased Williamson, “It’s very different from my usual superhero work. Easily the most tragic. It’s a dramatic, emotional, and heartbreaking comic about family and generation trauma. All key pieces of a horror story. Oh, and bloody and violent… This is not going to be what you expect…”

Universal Monsters: Blood of the Wolf Man #1 (of 4) hits stores on June 24, 2026.

For Comic Book Club News, I’m Alex Zalben. Not to be confused with Marv Wolfman, who is great at basketball.
