Blood Hunt Omnibus Collects Marvel Event:
One of Marvel’s more recent events will be biting its way into stores, as the publisher has announced a Blood Hunt omnibus, collecting the 2024 vampire-centric saga.
Per ICv2, the 1,368 page collection will include the core, five issue miniseries by Jed MacKay and Pepe Larraz, as well as a slew of tie-ins, miniseries, and one-shots ranging from the Free Comic Book Day one-shot through a series of X-Men-centric one-shots, and everything in between. What’s not clear is whether the collection will contain the expanded, Red Band version of the main series, or the non-polybagged version; though given the listing, it seems likely it’s the censored version that includes Doctor Strange getting impaled, instead of cut in half with his intestines dripping out.
Blood Hunt Omnibus hits stores on October 6, 2026, with a regular cover and a direct market cover from Alex Ross featuring Doctor Strange as a vampire.
Anthony Bourdain’s Get Jiro Gets Collected:
Back in 2012, legendary chef Anthony Bourdain launched a graphic novel titled Get Jiro! about a sushi chef in the near future where rival gangs fight about culinary issues instead of, you know, crime. It was launched with a small press gathering thrown by DC and Bourdain, which I was invited to and it was one of the best nights of my life.
But more newsworthy, both Get Jiro! and its prequel Blood and Sushi are getting collected in one, 344-page paperback volume. And not only does it include both stories from Bourdain, Joel Rose, Langdon Foss, and Ale Garza, it will also include “previously unseen development art by Foss.”
Get Jiro! The Complete Collection will hit stores on June 30, 2026, under DC’s rebooted Vertigo imprint.
DC Finest New Gods Collection Gets Reprinted:
It’s Collection Thursdays here on the podcast, something we do every week and we’ll definitely do again, as DC is reprinting their DC Finest collection The Fourth World: When Old Gods Die, which you can sing to the tune of “When Doves Cry.”
Previously released, the 560-page paperback includes a slew of Jack Kirby New Gods comics, including three issues of New Gods, four issues of The Forever People, four issues of Mister Miracle, and a few Superman comics because why not?
DC Finest: The Fourth World: When the Old Gods Die will hit stores on November 23, 2026.
