This is Comic Book Club News for February 27, 2026.
Marvel And DC To Reprint Classic JLA/Avengers Crossover Series:
Back in 2003, Kurt Busiek and George Pérez — as well as publishers Marvel and DC Comics — joined forces for the four issue series JLA/Avengers. And while you occasionally can find copies here and there, it’s been difficult to track them down… And they weren’t included in the best-selling DC Vs. Marvel omnibuses released a few years back. But now? DC and Marvel are teaming up again to release facsimile editions of all four issues, along with all-new variant covers.
Given the sharing mood the two pubs have been in lately, they’ll publish alternating issues of the series, with Marvel handling JLA/Avengers #1 and #3 in May and July, while DC will publish Avengers/JLA #2 and #4 in June and August. Fun fact: that’s not confusing at all.
Wondering what it’s about? Guess what: the Justice League meets The Avengers, and it features all the big moments you want as they face down Terminus and Starro, they go on a massive treasure hunt, and discover that the East Coast of the DCU is a little larger to accomodate fictional cities Metropolis and Gotham.

M.A.S.K. Rides Into The Energon Universe:
It’s been teased in Transformers and G.I. Joe for a while now, but M.A.S.K. is officially driving into Skybound’s Energon Universe with a new ongoing series from Dan Watters and Pye Parr. The news was announced by none other than Robert Kirkman during his keynote address at this year’s ComicsPRO.
In case you’re not familiar, M.A.S.K. focuses on Matt Trakker, who runs an elite network of speciliasts driving “bleeding-edge technology that converts their vehicles–and their drivers–into the ultimate weapon.” Opposing them? Miles Mayhem and V.E.N.O.M., who also have vehicles that turn into weapons. So basically: Transformers meets G.I. Joe.
In addition to the story, I guess, there’s also so many variant covers. And you know they have blind bags with “surprise variant covers” as well as “surprise comics.” As teased at Image’s presentation at ComicsPRO, one of those surprise comics will introduce the most-demanded Energon Universe character, with someone in the crowd shouting “Snake Eyes” and Image’s Arune Singh neither confirming nor denying.

Meet Skate Ali From Dark Horse:
Get ready to meet what might be your next favorite comic book series Skate Ali, a five issue mini from Dark Horse Comics, written by Kelly Sue DeConnick and Sam Humphries, with art by Natacha Bustos and letters by Josh Reed.
Set in near-future Los Angeles, the book focuses on the titular character as she plays at being a student by day, rebel skater by night. That is until she comes face to face with the world of underground skateboarding, a gang called the LA Skull Clan, and their leader, Skull Queen 9. They’re “fueled by a magical force called the Rush,” and Ali needs to decide whether to join them.
Skate Ali #1 hits stores on June 10, 2026.
