There was a bit of an online scuttlebutt a few weeks back teasing that Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Nic Klein’s run on Infernal Hulk for Marvel is coming to an end with issue #10. Well, that title is coming to an end, but only because it’s the second act of a three part story. And now we know what that third part is: Hulk War: Infernal Rage.
“Infernal Hulk is Act Two,” Johnson told Comic Book Club during a recent podcast interview. “Incredible Hulk, the first 30 issues, has all been just putting all the pieces on the board. And now we’re in this awesome place where all the pieces are there. And now he’s the monster of the Marvel Universe. We’re going to be seeing a lot more appearances from other big, heavy hitters in Marvel. That’s starting like immediately.
“Like, let’s see, issue five, I’ll spoil some s**t. In issue five, we’re going to see the Avengers a little bit… We’re going to start seeing… X-Men, we’re going to see other beloved characters, because Hulk is now this big hassle for the whole Marvel Universe. And that all builds up to this gigantic Act Three that’s coming. So, man, I can’t wait for you to see. I’m really excited for what’s coming.”
While that interview a few weeks back couldn’t reveal what was coming next, a teaser sent last week from Marvel did reveal… Well, the title. You can check out the PR text and an image below; though we’re going to have to wait until next year to find out what’s actually up.
THE MARVEL UNIVERSE BRACES ITSELF FOR HULK’S INFERNAL RAGE!
Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Nic Klein’s Infernal Hulk epic concludes in 2027 with HULK WAR.
