DC Comics has announced an Absolute Universe event is coming towards the end of 2026… And also, the debut dates of Absolute Green Arrow and Absolute Catwoman, as well as a slew of DC Next Level titles.
What do we know about the Absolute Universe event? Not much other than it’ll come in Q4 2026, and as teased at the ComicsPRO event in Glendale, California, it’ll be a standalone series. Teased editor Chris Conroy, it’ll be easy for retailers to explain and fans to understand. “You won’t have to explain what a crossover is,” Conroy said, adding that it’ll build the universe “just like Absolute Evil did.”
More specifically, we found out about Absolute Green Arrow #1, which will hit on May 20, 2026 from writer Pornsak Pitcheshote and artist Rafael Albuquerque. The book picks up after the murder of Oliver Queen, with a mysterious serial killer called The Longbow Hunter killing the billionaires who killed Oliver Queen… And an investigator named Dinah Lance hot on his tail.
Then on June 10, Absolute Catwoman #1 from Che Grayson and Scott Snyder, with art by Bengal. That was announced at New York Comic Con, and will take place between Selina leaving Gotham in Absolute Batman, and when she returned.
But wait, there’s more! Over to DC Next Level, the in-continuity books that take place after DC K.O., we’ve got:
- Barbara Gordon: Breakout, by Mariko Tamaki and Amancay Nahuelpan, spinning out of the main Batman title and finding Barbara in a supermax prison with no gadgets and no way out. That will hit on May 13.
- There’s also The Deadman, a six-issue series coming in June from Ice Cream Man creators W. Maxwell Prince and Martín Morazzo, which finds Deadman picking up the pieces from DC K.O.
- And later in 2026? Teen Titans by Kyle Higgins and Daniele Di Nicuolo, which finds Red Hood discovering a network of new young heroes and helping them “expose the lie dividing their world.”
- Then in Summer 2026? Legion of Super-Heroes, Doom Patrol and Jonah Hex.
- And in Fall 2026, The Demon and Batman: Shadow of the Bat.
No dates or teams were provided for the latter, but DC also announced Bad Seeds, a Gotham Event coming in Q3 2026 as Mayor Pamela Isley comes to blows with Commissioner Vandal Savage, with the Bat-family caught in the middle.
There was also plenty of DC Vertigo news, with End of Life #1 joining Bleeding Hearts #1 on the “sold out” list, and a rough schedule for Wave Two debuts: 100 Bullets: The US of Anger and Fanatic in Summer, 2026; Necretaceous and Black Tower in Fall 2026; and Crying Doll and A Walking Shadow in Winter 2026.
Editor Conroy teased that US of Anger finds Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso in tip top form, “going for it” with a story set right now in 2026. Meanwhile, Fanatic has a “secret,” but we’ll find out what that is later.
