There may have not been a new trailer for Supergirl that premiered on the Puppy Bowl — that was left for star Milly Alcock playing with puppies and some glimpses at footage — but there is a new trailer that premiered today… Or at least a new 30 second look at the movie, titled “Home.”
In the brief clip, we get to see baby Krypto the Superdog, a rescue pup, meeting Kara Zor-El (Alcock) for the first time in Argo City, prior to the explosion of Krypton. “Who are you?” she asks, and though Krypto — who can’t talk — doesn’t answer her. The bulk of the ad is spent on Supergirl talking to Ruthye (Eve Ridley), the girl she teams up with to take down villain Krem of the Yellow Hills (Matthias Schoenaerts) after… Well, let’s just say there’s a reason Krypto doesn’t appear in the rest of the footage in the preview.
“What’s Superman like?” Ruthye asks.
“He sees the good in everyone,” Supergirl answers. “Where I see the truth.”
You can watch the new spot below. And just to be clear, it is not a Super Bowl trailer for Supergirl, and will not air tonight during the Big Game. It’s just a new Supergirl trailer that happened to appear on the same day for no reason!
