This is Comic Book Club News for June 24, 2025.
DC Comics September 2025 Solicits Highlights:
This September, meet Batman in Batman #1. He’s just a regular guy in the city looking for love. But can one man have it all? We’ll find out when Matt Fraction and Jorge Jiménez launch a new volume of the title with a series of done-in-one issues that tie into a big, overarching story.
But wait, that’s not all for the Bat-family. Red Hood #1 is a new mature readers only title that takes Jason Todd and Huntress to a new city, with a few bullets to spare. Detective Comics #1101 kicks off a new arc that asks what Batman does when the world is freed from the concept of fear. And Batman: The Long Halloween: The Last Halloween #10 finishes off the series by Jeph Loeb.
Over in the Absolute Universe, Absolute Batman #12 continues the fight against Bane, and it seems like Killer Croc is waiting in the wings. There’s also the interesting sounding DC W.I.P.: Absolute Batman #1, which features Nick Dragotta’s original artwork in an 11″ x 17″ format, and a new introduction from Dragotta. And in Absolute Superman #11, Kal-El’s parents are back. Or are they?
Back in the main universe, Superman #30 finishes Superman’s fight against Darkseid’s Legion of Super-Heroes, returns Booster Gold to the universe, and leads directly into October’s mysterious event. Adventures of Superman: Book of El #1 continues Phillip Kennedy Johnson’s take on the Man of Steel, concluding the long-delayed saga he started in Action Comics. And in Superman: The Kryptonite Spectrum #2, the team from Ice Cream Man turns Superman in into a Kal-El kaiju.
Wonder Woman #25 promises to be a big one as Diana finds Etta Candy, the missing Amazon Emilie, and a little bundle of joy who will change everything. Tom King also returns to one of his most controversial storylines in Trinity #4, as Wonder Woman’s daughter travels to the wedding of Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle.
New History of the DC Universe #4 catches up to the present day — and gives a glimpse at the future of DC. Tom Taylor and Daniele Di Nicuolo launch a brand-new series of young heroes inspired by Arthurian legends in C.O.R.T.: Children of the Round Table #1. And the requisite Halloween anthology is titled DC’s Zatannic Panic!
