The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain, but The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 3 has a teaser, premiere date, and some first look images at the new season. Does this lede make any sense? Not sure, it’s still pretty early here on the East Coast!
Anyway, during last night’s (June 22) finale of The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2, AMC dropped the first teaser for the upcoming, Spain-set season of the spinoff. Starring Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon, and Melissa McBride as Carol Pelletier — spoilers for Season 2 — after heading to England in the Chunnel, they’ve somehow gotten turned around and ended up in Spain.
You won’t get any answers about how that particular mix-em-up happened in the brief teaser. But based on the footage, set to a pretty intense version of “Fur Elise,” we get to see some dancing, what looks like a little romance for Carol, and of course, plenty of undead action. It also definitely leans into what we know about the season, that given the Spanish setting the production is channeling Spaghetti Westerns, aka the classic Western movies that were mostly filmed in Spain, standing in for the Old West.

Season three which filmed in Spain will follow Daryl (Reedus) and Carol (McBride) as they continue their journey to somehow return home and to the ones they love. As they struggle to find their way back, the path takes them farther astray, leading them through distant lands with ever-changing and unfamiliar conditions as they witness the various effects of the Walker apocalypse.
Per PR from AMC, Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada and Alexandra Masangkay join as series regulars in Season 3. Additional cast includes Candela Saitta, Hugo Arbués, Greta Fernández, Gonzalo Bouza, Hada Nieto, Yassmine Othman, Cuco Usín and Stephen Merchant, amongst others.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 3 is executive produced by Scott M. Gimple, Showrunner David Zabel, Reedus, McBride, Greg Nicotero, Brian Bockrath, Angela Kang, Jason Richman, Dan Percival and Steve Squillante along with Silvia Aráez and Jesús de la Vega from Ánima Stillking.
