Gen V is almost back in session for Season 2. As just revealed at the Prime Video panel at CCXP México, The Boys spinoff series will debut its sophomore season on September 17. And not only that, the streamer dropped an ominous look at the new season of the superhero series.

In the new season, after being thrown in a strange prison after the events of the Season 1 finale, Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair), Emma Meyer (Lizze Broadway), and Jordan Li (London Thor and Derek Luh) are brought back to Godolkin University to find the world very changed. Cate (Maddie Phillips) and Sam (Asa Germann) are recognized as heroes after Homelander’s (Antony Starr) takeover of America in The Boys Season 4 finale. And they’re also dealing with the loss of the character Andre Anderson, mirroring the real-life, tragic loss of actor Chance Perdomo.

Not only that, but there’s a strange new dean named Cipher (Hamish Linklater) who is very into Supe rights. And Andre’s father, Polarity (Sean Patrick Thomas) is looking for justice for his son.

Don’t worry, there are still plenty of college shenanigans, including Emma acting like a beer pong ball, and fighting on campus. But there are also gladiatorial arenas and a dude who looks like Viking Thor, so it’s a bit of a mixed bag.

Here’s the official synopsis for Gen V Season 2:

School is back in session. As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander’s iron fist, back at Godolkin University, the mysterious new Dean preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever. Cate and Sam are celebrated heroes, while Marie, Jordan, and Emma reluctantly return to college, burdened by months of trauma and loss. But parties and classes are hard to care about with war brewing between Humans and Supes, both on and off campus. The gang learns of a secret program that goes back to the founding of Godolkin University that may have larger implications than they realize. And, somehow, Marie is a part of it.
