ThunderCats are still on the loose, and I really wish someone would do something about those ThunderCats already. But in lieu of spaying and neutering your ThunderCats, how about instead we take a look at ThunderCats #16 from Dynamite, which kicks off a new story arc from writer Declan Shalvey and artist Drew Moss.
“The first year of bringing ThunderCats back to comics, to old fans and new, has been a thrilling experience,” said Shalvey via a press release provided to Comic Book Club. “It’s been a privilege for myself and Drew Moss to establish a new mythos for these characters in comics, and seeing it build out into new and exciting connected series like SilverHawks and ThunderCats Lost. Now the playing field for our series is bigger and bolder, our characters face greater challenges requiring a new innovation: The Knights of Thundera.”
In the new arc, Lion-O is missing, with Cheetara stepping up in the cat-shaped hole left by the leader. Meanwhile, Calica has returned, and Tygra has come up with a new type of metal called Thundore and crafted armor for the team (see below), which Panthro needs after his debilitating showdown with Mumm-Ra. Oh, and then a new character — one from ThunderCats Lost — shows up.

Above, you can see the designs for the armor and weapons as the Cats establish the Knights of Thundera, a new “proactive security force.” Plus, check out covers by Shalvey and Moss, as well as Lucio Parrillo, Jae Lee, and Manix Abrera. ThunderCats #16 debuts in May.
