The first season of Daredevil: Born Again ended with a bang, shaking the hero and the city to their core. And in Season 2, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) is going to find himself in dire need of more allies. But who could rise to the occasion? The show has laid the ground for some heroes to appear, and if he’s going to beat The Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio), he’s going to need some help.
Some characters, like The Punisher (Jon Bernthal), have already appeared on Born Again, so they are bound to appear in Season 2. But Marvel has a giant list of characters they could add to the series — and that we’re begging to show up. Born Again Season 2 might even be the perfect chance to introduce new heroes. Some are more likely than others, and at least one on this list definitely won’t appear.
But here’s hoping Marvel hears our prayers, and packs Season 2 will all the help the Man Without Fear needs to win the day.
The Defenders

When you think about Daredevil’s allies, the Defenders are the first ones that come to mind. Dario Scardapane, Born Again‘s showrunner, didn’t confirm anything but said the classic Netflix characters are something he’s thinking about. He isn’t the only one interested, as Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Mike Colter (Luke Cage), and Finn Jones (Iron Fist) have all stated they want to participate if they get the chance.
The Punisher

The Punisher already appeared in two episodes of Born Again with an important role, and will have a standalone special airing on a TBA date. Saying he won’t be doing more stuff on the MCU is a losing bet. Not to mention, he and Daredevil still have many incredible crossover stories to be explored.
Elektra

Matt needs the toughest of allies to win his war against Fisk, and who better than Elektra (Elodie Yung)? Like with Punisher, he disagrees with her methods, but they still work together — and sleep together. She could be a trump card that turns the tide of battle.
Ms. Marvel

In Episode 5, Matt saves Yusuf Khan (Mohan Kapur), Ms. Marvel’s (Iman Vellani) father, and forges a friendship with him. Given Jersey City, her home, and New York are neighboring towns, it wouldn’t be hard for her to make an appearance. Besides, seeing how Vellani, who plays the heroine, loves comics, she would be totally on board, too.
Hawkeye

Born Again‘s season finale reveals Fisk has imprisoned Jack Duquesne (Tony Dalton), the Swordsman. He’s also a minor villain (and eventual ally) in the Hawkeye series, meaning Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) or Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) can come looking for him. The heroine might also join the fight with Ms. Marvel, as they’ll be part of the Young Avengers team Kamala is assembling.
Blindspot

Sam Chung, AKA Blindspot, became Daredevil’s sidekick in the comics, helping him multiple times, even against Muse. Although he isn’t a vigilante yet, he’s actually already part of the MCU as part of Iron Fist‘s cast. The show could use that to create his new hero origin story and have him join the fight.
Spider-Man

This is definitely the most anticipated Daredevil crossover ever, but it probably won’t happen anytime soon. Sony controls Spider-Man’s television rights, prohibiting him from appearing in any MCU show in live-action — or at least making it exceedingly difficult. Even though Kingpin makes a reference to him in episode 2, that’ll probably stay as a reference for now.
