Jeff The Land Shark is the hottest thing on four feet (fins?), thanks to Marvel Rivals. And now he’s spinning off into his own five-issue limited series, Jeff the Land Shark, and even getting covers by Stanley “Artgerm” Lau.
“I’m thrilled that the slow burn success of Jeff in comics and the wildfire success of Jeff in Marvel Rivals can work together to bring us the opportunity for not only more Jeff stories, but more complex Jeff stories,” said writer Kelly Thompson via a press release provided to Comic Book Club. “The It’s Jeff series works almost like perfectly executed jokes, and I couldn’t love it more; but it’s exciting to take on the challenge of the complicated narrative that you can get from a mini-series.”
Written by Thompson with art by Tokitoro, the Marvel mini will find Jeff entering the Sanctum Sanctorum and unleashing a “Shadow Jeff” on the Marvel Universe. It’s up to Jeff and his amazing friends to stop his shadow, presumably by sewing him back on but maybe I’m thinking of Peter Pan?
