Imperial from Marvel promises to remake the cosmic landscape of the universe, thanks to writer Jonathan Hickman. And in thanks to the covers and synopsis for issue two, we know a little more of what the series is about: muuuuuuuurder.
Or, more specifically, someone, or someones, is killing the leaders of Marvel’s galactic empires, creating a power vacuum and kicking off intergalactic war. The series itself features art by Iban Coello and Federico Vicentini, but the Imperial #2 covers feature Marco Checcheto, Gerald Paerl, and W. Scott Forbes. As for what the covers tease, Marvel notes that “some of the event’s major players including Deathbird, Nova, Gladiator, and Shuri,” via PR provided to Comic Book Club. And they also tease that She-Hulk “will embark on a surprising journey.” Meanwhile, in case you’re confused, Lilandra was resurrected out of an egg in the “X-Manhunt” crossover.
Check out the synopsis and covers below. Imperial #2 hits stores on July 9, 2025.
