Gerry Duggan And Jae Lee Team Up For ‘This Ends Tonight’

This Ends Tonight #1 cover

Gerry Duggan and Jae Lee are teaming up for a new Tarantino-esque comic book from Image Comics, This Ends Tonight, which is great news for all you foot fetishists out there. Oh, and action fans, I guess.

Written by Duggan, Kelvin Mao and Robert Windom, the book includes interior art by Lee and June Chung. On Lee, it’s a relative rarity to see him on interior art these days instead of just covers, so that’s exciting in and of itself. But what, you might ask, is the book about?

In the first issue of the three-issue miniseries, two sisters fight assassins who are hunting them because of a family secret… And then the subsequent two issues show the same night in Las Vegas, with different, interconnected stories. Duggan, Mao and Windom worked together on the stories, and will each write one of the issues.

This Ends Tonight began as so many great creator-owned comics do—with friends hanging out and dreaming out loud about what would be cool to see in a comic. What would be cool to see Jae Lee draw and June Chung color,” said Duggan via a press release provided to Comic Book Club. “It was my privilege to get to have fun with the Seven Sons team, and I’m thrilled to collaborate on a comic that once again proves there’s no better team working in comics than Jae & June.”

“This series takes three separate high-octane action stories and collides them together in Las Vegas. The city usually sees about 250 murders a year. I think we can top that in our one night stand in the city of sin. We’ve been threatening you with this good time for a while, and now it’s time to roll them bones…and bodies.”

This Ends Tonight #1 hits stores on July 16, featuring covers by Jae Lee and Adam Hughes. Check those out, and some interior pages, below. Click the images below for larger versions.
