‘Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees’ Returns This July With ‘Rite Of Spring’ #1

Are you ready to head back Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees? Because ready or not, Patrick Horvath’s hit horror series is returning for Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees: Rite Of Spring #1 on July 9, 2025.

The first of six issues of the new IDW series picks up a decade after the original, best-selling series as Samantha, our serial killer bear is happily getting away with her crimes once again, while continuing to live and work in the busy town of Woodbrook. Unfortunately for her, no secrets stay buried… And it seems like one of her victims’ loved ones will begin to unravel Samantha’s trail of blood.

“I’m supremely excited to return to the quaint town of Woodbrook to continue the story of our psychopath bear, Samantha Strong,” said Horvath via a press release provided to Comic Book Club. “I continue to be blown away by the response to the first book. In my wildest dreams I never thought it would have caught such a huge wave that spread out to other countries and languages. BENEATH THE TREES WHERE NOBODY SEES continues to be a huge gift to me, and I’m grateful for all of the immense support from IDW, the retailers, critics, and fans.”

Added editor Jake Williams, “Patrick Horvath is going to save comics – hell, he’s already on his way. BENEATH THE TREES WHERE NOBODY SEES is the sort of shot in the arm that the industry prays for. A reminder of how good the medium can be. And here’s a secret: we always knew we were doing more. Patrick introduced you to his world in part one – now it’s time to plunge deeper into the darkness, expand out to the edges, and ultimately smash it all up. Alongside a main cover by Horvath, Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees #1 will feature an homage to American Psycho by Tony Fleecs, a storybook variant by Riley Rossmo, and subsequent issues will feature variants by Elizabeth Beals. There will also be a variant by Skottie Young, to be revealed at a later date.
