Are you ready to meet Powerlift? The hero — or villain? — will be introduced in the pages of Marvel’s Miles Morales: Spider-Man #33, and have a big impact on the title going forward.
“Dr. Keisha Kwan has been a slow burn in our book for almost two whole years, and I’m SO excited for folks to finally see her Powerlift form in action!” writer Cody Ziglar said via a press release provided by Marvel. “Federico [Vincentini] did an amazing job designing her – we love gamma/Hulk characters almost as much as we love the work of Akira Toriyama; Powerlift is our homage to both! Marco has drawn some incredible scenes with her that I think folks are gonna love.”
If you’re not 100% sure what Ziglar is talking about, here’s the deal. Miles is currently in the middle of a “God War,” with himself as the champion of Anansi, the Spider-God. On the opposite side of things? Ares, the god of war. Enter Dr. Keisha Kwan, who becomes Powerlift thanks to some gamma powers and rage, starting in Miles Morales: Spider-Man #33. The storyline will continue through to at least Miles Morales: Spider-Man #36, and you can check out some covers and art, below:
