The Legend of Kingdom Come, a documentary about the making of the iconic DC Comics series, has set two premiere dates for May. But you’re going to have to be in Chicago or Italy to go see them.
Per a press release provided to Comic Book Club, the North American Premiere of the doc will be on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Music Box Theatre in Chicago. This will be followed by an International Premiere at The Lake Como Art Festival in Italy on Saturday, May 17, 2025.
“Sal and I had a great time making this film and we are thrilled to celebrate the release and share our work with live audiences throughout the year,” said director Remsy Atassi, per the release.
As Atassi notes, if you aren’t in The Windy City or Europe’s boot, after the two May premieres the film is expected to screen at additional festivals and conventions throughout 2025.
Focusing on the series by Mark Waid and Alex Ross, both creators will be featured in the film alongside Todd McFarlane, Julie Benson and Shawna Benson, Paul Dini and more. The movie is directed by Atassi and produced by Sal Abbinanti, both of whom will be in attendance at the Chicago premiere, which will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers. Also available in Chicago will be Blu-Ray versions of the film, as well as other items for purchase. I guess if you see it in Italy the big draw is that you’re seeing it in Italy?
